The Craft of a Scent

The Craft of a Scent

e

Every scent we create begins with patience, hands-on work, and a love for the craft. While many perfumers test their blends in small bottles, we step into the process differently. We make a full wax tart, pouring our essential oils directly into the soy wax. It’s not the fastest way, but it’s the truest way for us.

We melt the wax to 185 degrees, stir in the chosen oils, and then wait—ten to fourteen quiet days as the oils and wax bond together. This time is essential. It’s when the character of the fragrance settles, when the blend finds its balance.

When the waiting is over, we lift the tart, open it, and take that first breath. If the aroma feels right, we burn it in a wax warmer and let it unfold in the air. If it doesn’t, we go back to the blend, adjusting, refining, and starting again. It’s a cycle of testing and tending, repeated as often as needed until the fragrance speaks with its full voice.

Our signature scent, Aura Bella Noir, asked more of us than most. It took thirty-seven tries—thirty-seven rounds of blending, curing, and testing before we reached the moment when we knew it was complete. That persistence is part of our philosophy: nothing leaves our hands until it feels honest, balanced, and whole.

For us, fragrance-making isn’t about rushing or cutting corners. It’s about respect—for the materials, for the process, and for the people who will one day breathe it in. Each scent is crafted slowly, deliberately, until it’s ready to be shared.
